Christian’s appreciation for wine grew through travel and winery tours across six continents. Again and again, he saw how good transportation and thoughtful hosting could make a wine region feel more accessible—especially for visitors who wanted to learn without feeling lectured or overwhelmed.
His background in education shaped the company’s approach: explain what is useful, invite curiosity, and create an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions. In May 2024, he launched Vineyard Voyages to bring that same ease, connection, and sense of discovery to Virginia wine country.
