What is the difference between Explorer and Connoisseur?

Explorer includes the shared Loudoun County 3-Winery Day Trip, round-trip transportation, three winery visits, a Certified Tourism Ambassador guide, and a professional driver. Tastings, wine, lunch, and personal purchases are separate. Connoisseur includes the same tour plus one pre-selected tasting or flight at each of the three wineries.

Are tastings included?

They are included only with Connoisseur. Connoisseur includes one pre-selected tasting or flight at each winery. Explorer guests purchase any tastings they want directly from the wineries.

No. Lunch is not included with either ticket. Food is available to purchase at the second winery during the longest stop of the day.

What are the departure and return times?

West Falls Church departs at 10:00 a.m. and typically returns around 6:00 p.m. Market Station departs at 11:15 a.m. and generally returns by 5:15 p.m. On Sunday Funday, West Falls Church departs at 11:00 a.m. and returns around 5:00 p.m., and Market Station departs at 11:55 a.m. and returns around 4:15 p.m. Return times can shift with traffic and venue operations.

How long is the full experience?

On Saturdays, plan on approximately eight hours when joining at West Falls Church or about six hours when joining at Market Station in Leesburg. Sunday Funday is about six hours from West Falls Church and about four from Leesburg.

Can I book as a solo guest or as a couple?

Yes. The scheduled tour is designed for solo travelers, couples, friends, and smaller groups who want to join a shared wine-country experience.

What happens if fewer than six guests are booked?

Loudoun County 3-Winery Day Trips generally require at least six guests to operate. If the minimum is not reached, affected guests may choose another available date or apply their ticket value toward a private tour for an additional fee.

What is the cancellation and Trip Protection policy?

Ticket sales are final. Optional Trip Protection may be added during checkout for $15 per person. Its coverage and claim terms are presented during checkout.

Does the tour operate when it rains?

Yes. Tours operate rain or shine, and winery stops include tasting rooms and indoor spaces for less favorable weather.

Is the executive bus wheelchair accessible?

No. The 27-passenger executive bus is not wheelchair accessible. Guests with mobility needs should contact Vineyard Voyages before booking to discuss boarding requirements and available options.

Why it works this way

Why take a bus instead of driving? Loudoun wineries sit on country roads 45 to 75 minutes from DC, too far apart to walk, and rideshare pickups out there are hit or miss. On the bus, nobody in your group has to stay sober to drive.
Why we hold the reservations. Many wineries require reservations for weekend tastings and for groups. We book the seating at all three stops before you arrive.
Why West Falls Church. It is on Metro's Orange Line, about 22 minutes from Metro Center, so you can ride in from the city instead of driving to wine country. WMATA says parking at its lots is free on weekends and federal holidays for Metro riders.
Explorer or Connoisseur. Choose Explorer if someone in your group is not drinking or you want to pick tastings on the spot. Choose Connoisseur if you want a tasting ready at every stop without ordering or paying at each winery.
Scheduled or private. Up to 9 guests, the scheduled tour is the simplest and lowest-cost option. At 10 or more, a private tour adds pickup at your door and your choice of wineries, from $150 per guest.
