How Vineyard Voyages compares to other DC-area wine tours
We run one of the companies on this page, so read it that way. The point of the table is to save you a dozen browser tabs: who picks up where, what a seat costs, how big a group each operator takes, and what is included. Every figure was read from each operator’s own website on August 30, 2026, and prices change, so check the operator before you book.
Scope: companies that run wine tours from the Washington, DC area to Loudoun County and Northern Virginia. Charter bus and limousine companies (Reston Limousine, Chariots for Hire, DCAcar and others) provide the vehicle and driver without a host or winery itinerary; they are a different product and are noted at the end.

Charter bus and limousine companies
Reston Limousine, Chariots for Hire, DCAcar, Presidential Limousine and similar companies rent a vehicle with a driver by the hour or the day. You choose and book the wineries yourself, and there is no host aboard. For a group that already knows exactly where it wants to go and has someone willing to run the day, that can be the right choice. For a group that wants the wineries chosen, the tables reserved and the day paced, a hosted tour does that work for you.
Which one fits your group
One to nine people who want a set day with no planning: a shared tour. Vineyard Voyages, Spirited Tours, Vino Virginia and All ABoard VA all sell per-seat tours; the differences are where each one boards, how many wineries the day includes, whether tastings are in the price, and, for Vineyard Voyages, the $99 tour-only ticket and the only boarding point inside Loudoun County (Leesburg). Ten to fifty people, a date of your choosing, or a specific set of wineries: a private tour, where the questions to ask any operator are the same: the per-person price, whether tastings are in or out, the deposit, and what vehicle you will be in.
