Haley Landry

Haley Landry

A storyteller with a passion for engagement, Haley turns every voyage into a fun, interactive journey through Virginia's rich history.

Being a CTA means being a trusted and knowledgeable guide across a wide variety of local topics. I strive to share the fun side of history with our guests rather than simply delivering a dry monologue of facts.
Loudoun County earned the nickname “The Loudoun Rangers’ Battleground” because it changed hands 150 times during the Civil War. It is the most contested county in the entire war, which makes for some incredible narratives as we tour the region.
I would choose the 8 Chains Mourvèdre because its exceptional character and depth make it a truly standout bottle. It represents the bold winemaking style that our local partners have mastered so beautifully.
Nebbiolo is the most underrated wine variety currently grown in our local terroir. It produces an elegant complexity that often surprises guests who aren't expecting such a sophisticated profile from Virginia soil.
The secret to an 8-hour tour is to drink water as often as you drink wine and make sure you eat consistently. I always recommend a Liquid IV before we start to keep your energy high for the full day.
My true fan moment happened when I realized that whatever wine I wasn’t using for cooking was perfectly delicious to drink. That discovery sparked a deeper curiosity that eventually led me to become an expert in the field.
When I’m not leading a voyage, you’ll likely find me at Spanky’s in Leesburg. It has the perfect atmosphere that captures the local community spirit of our town.
I have explored Italy, Spain, and Germany, but I am currently dreaming of an adventure in Argentina or Portugal. I’ve even joked that I’d love to be on the very first wine tour in Antarctica if it ever happens!
I am partial to the morning departure from West Falls Church to kick off the day. There is a specific excitement in the air when the group first gathers to begin their day of discovery.
Engaging. Experience. Fun.

A seasoned navigator with a passion for sharing the scale and excellence of DC's thriving Wine Country.

Being a Certified Tourism Ambassador means I get to share DC's wine country with genuine pride and purpose. It’s about creating a welcoming, memorable experience rooted in deep local knowledge and world-class hospitality.
Most guests are shocked to learn that Virginia is now home to more than 300 wineries across the state. This massive growth has transformed our region into a legitimate world-class destination for wine enthusiasts.
For me, it’s an easy choice — Petit Manseng from Good Spirit Farm. If I were stranded on a desert island, that’s the bottle I’d want with me; the light fruitiness is incredible, and those pineapple and grapefruit notes on the finish are everything!
I believe Petit Manseng is the true hidden gem of the Loudoun County terroir. It produces a rich, versatile wine that is perfectly suited to our unique growing conditions and climate.
My best advice is to never rush the tasting experience and take a quiet moment at each winery. Truly soaking in the view while you sip allows you to appreciate the craftsmanship in every single glass.
My true fan moment was sitting in a vineyard at sunset with a great glass of local wine. I realized then that wine isn't just a drink, but a complete sensory experience of the land it comes from.
My favorite local spot in Leesburg is King Street Coffee for its incredible lattes and welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to grab a high-quality brew and soak in the historic charm of the town.
I would love to take a wine tour in Bordeaux, France to see where many of our traditions began. It would be fascinating to see the Old World roots of the varietals we grow right here in Virginia.
Educational. Scenic. Memorable.

A global wine explorer who has visited 6 continents and focuses on bridging cultural gaps through "edutainment."

Being a CTA is all about providing "edutainment" for every guest who boards the bus. I see my role as bridging the gap between a fascinating history lesson and a world-class party atmosphere.
I love reminding guests that Virginia is the true birthplace of American wine history. This legacy began with Thomas Jefferson's early vision for viticulture and continues to evolve with our modern success.
It would be a toss-up between the Good Spirit Farm Albariño or the Casanel José Rosé. Both represent the high quality of our partner wineries and would be a delight to have while stranded.
While many focus on Cabernet Franc, I believe Petit Verdot is the true hidden gem of Loudoun County. It thrives in our terroir, producing stand-alone wines with incredible depth, color, and violet aromatics.
Hydration is your best friend when you are exploring multiple vineyards in one afternoon. My top advice is to drink a full glass of water between every winery visit to keep your palate sharp.
My moment happened while traveling through the Southern Hemisphere and experiencing global wine culture firsthand. Seeing how a single bottle of wine could bridge cultural gaps and spark deep conversation made me a fan for life.
My go-to spot in Leesburg is Fireworks Pizza for its wood-fired crust and excellent local tap list. It makes for the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the local flavors after a long voyage.
Having experienced wine on 6 continents, I am patiently waiting for someone to open the first vineyard in Antarctica. Reaching all 7 continents through the lens of wine is my ultimate goal!
Fun. Relaxing. Edutainment.
