Guests on a Vineyard Voyages wine bus tour at a Loudoun County winery in Virginia

Loudoun County, Virginia

The wine bus to Virginia wine country.

A seat on an executive shuttle, three Loudoun County wineries in a day, and a host who knows the people pouring. Board at West Falls Church Metro at 10:00 AM off the Orange Line, or at Market Station in downtown Leesburg at 11:15 AM. Nobody in your group drives, parks, navigates or counts drinks.

Two ways to ride

Take a seat, or take the whole shuttle.

Guests come from across the region. Maryland guests take Metro to West Falls Church and skip the Beltway entirely.

The day

What a wine bus day looks like.

Three wineries, roughly an hour and a half at each, with lunch somewhere along the route. Your host is a Certified Tourism Ambassador and has usually met the winemaker at every stop, which is most of why the day runs the way it does.

The vehicle

A 27-passenger executive shuttle.

A professional driver at the wheel. It is the vehicle a company would put a client on, and that is deliberate. The tone of the day is a good dinner rather than a night out. If you want music and a dance floor, we are not it.

Questions we get

Before you book a seat.

Is this a private shuttle or a shared one?

Scheduled departures are shared, usually 20 to 27 guests. Book the whole shuttle and it is only your group.

Can I get there without a car?

Yes. West Falls Church is on the Orange Line and the shuttle leaves from the station.

What does $99 actually cover?

Round-trip transportation, your guide, the driver, and reserved seating at all three wineries. You pay for tastings at each winery. At $179 the tastings are covered. No food comes with either ticket.

How long is the day?

About eight hours from West Falls Church, six from Leesburg.

Can we bring our own drinks aboard?

No alcohol is permitted on the vehicle on scheduled tours.

What if it rains?

Tours operate rain or shine.

What if my plans change?

Ticket sales are final. Trip Protection is $15 per person and lets you cancel up to 24 hours before departure.

What if hardly anyone books my date?

Six guests are needed for a departure to run. Below that you can move to another date or put the value toward a private tour.
