Choose the right kind of day

Join an arranged route—or build a private experience around your group.

Most guests searching for Northern Virginia winery tours want one of two things: an easy scheduled day with the route already handled, or a private outing with custom pickup and more flexibility.

The easy shared getaway

Signature Scheduled Tour

Choose a published date, meet the bus at West Falls Church Metro or Market Station in Leesburg, and enjoy a rotating three-winery route through Loudoun County.

Route handled

No winery research, reservation juggling, or designated-driver discussion.

Professional transportation

Settle into comfortable group transportation and ride together between stops.

Welcoming guidance

A Certified Tourism Ambassador keeps the day clear, approachable, and on track.

Built around your group

Private Wine-Country Experience

Start with your occasion, group size, preferred atmosphere, timing, and pickup needs. Vineyard Voyages develops the transportation and itinerary through a customized proposal.

Options are confirmed through a customized proposal. Nothing should be assumed included unless it appears in the final package.

Two scheduled-tour ticket styles

Choose flexibility—or have the tastings arranged too.

Both ticket types include the scheduled tour, round-trip transportation from the selected pickup, and visits to three wineries. The difference is how wine purchases are handled.

Flexible

Explorer

Best for guests who want the transportation and itinerary handled while choosing their own tastings, glasses, bottles, and food at the wineries.

  • Three-winery scheduled route
  • Professional round-trip transportation
  • Certified Tourism Ambassador guide
  • Tastings and lunch purchased separately
Tasting-inclusive

Connoisseur

Best for guests who prefer one pre-selected tasting or flight to be arranged at each of the three wineries before the day begins.

  • Everything included with the scheduled route
  • One pre-selected tasting or flight at each winery
  • Less ordering and decision-making at each stop
  • Lunch remains available for separate purchase

Current ticket prices, booking fees, direct-booking benefits, availability, and complete inclusions are shown in Xola. Review the selected option before checkout.

2

Piedmont Country Journey

Rolling scenery, estate-grown wines, and relaxed properties west of Leesburg.

3

Valley Vistas Excursion

Panoramic countryside, established producers, and properties with room to settle in.

4

Potomac Terroir Getaway

A seasonal western Loudoun route combining wine, a winery-and-brewery stop, and a changing third property.

A look at the experience

Authentic groups, welcoming winery spaces, vineyard scenery, and the simple relief of traveling together.

An illustrative scheduled-tour flow

Meet the bus, settle in, and let the day unfold.

The exact winery order, timing, traffic, food availability, and experience details vary by route and date.

This sequence is illustrative. It is not a promise of exact times, venues, food, tastings, or other inclusions.

Why guests choose a guided winery bus tour

The value is not only the vehicle. It is having the whole day make sense.

A strong Northern Virginia wine tour connects the route, transportation, reservations, pacing, and guest experience so the group can focus on the wineries and one another.

No designated driver

Everyone can travel together without managing multiple vehicles or choosing who will sit the day out.

Three stops at a comfortable pace

The route leaves room for ordering, tasting, food, conversation, photographs, and travel between wineries.

Approachable wine context

Guides share regional perspective without turning the day into a lecture or making wine feel intimidating.

Published route clarity

You can review the expected winery lineup for the date before booking the scheduled experience.

Rain-or-shine confidence

Tours operate rain or shine, and partner tasting rooms provide indoor settings when the weather changes.

A clear private alternative

Groups needing custom pickup or a personalized itinerary can move into the private planning process instead.

Northern Virginia wine tour questions

Helpful answers before you choose a date.

How many wineries are included on the scheduled tour?

Each Signature Scheduled Tour is planned around three winery stops in Loudoun County. The published route identifies the expected lineup for each date.

Are wine tastings included?

The Explorer ticket does not include tastings. The tasting-inclusive Connoisseur ticket includes one pre-selected tasting or flight at each of the three wineries. Review the current Xola option details before checkout.

Is lunch included?

No. Lunch is available for purchase at the second winery and is not included with either scheduled-tour ticket.

Can we choose different wineries?

No. Scheduled departures follow the published route for that date, and winery substitutions cannot be requested. A private tour is the better fit for groups seeking a customized itinerary.

Can the published winery lineup change?

Only in rare circumstances. If a scheduled winery becomes unavailable, Vineyard Voyages may adjust the lineup and arrange an appropriate alternative.

Where do Northern Virginia wine tours depart?

Scheduled guests choose either West Falls Church Metro Kiss & Ride or Market Station in Leesburg. Private experiences can be planned around custom pickup needs, subject to the final proposal.

How long is the scheduled winery tour?

The planned day is approximately eight hours from West Falls Church and approximately six hours from Leesburg. Traffic, winery operations, and route conditions can affect return time.

What happens if fewer than six guests book?

If a departure does not meet the operating minimum, affected guests may be offered another date or the option to convert the outing to a private experience for an additional fee.

Are bookings refundable?

Scheduled-tour sales are final. Optional Trip Protection is available at checkout for $15 per person under the terms presented during booking.

Can non-drinkers join?

Yes. Guests can enjoy the transportation, scenery, company, food options, and winery atmosphere without drinking. Purchases and tasting participation depend on the ticket selected.
