The Signature Scheduled Tour experience

Comfortable transportation, welcoming tasting rooms, scenic settings, and a group of guests ready to enjoy the day together.

What the day feels like

The bus pulls away from the Metro or Market Station, and the city gives way to Loudoun County’s rolling countryside — the kind of drive that’s part of the appeal, not just the commute to it. Your host, a Certified Tourism Ambassador, keeps the day moving without rushing it: a little history here, a heads-up about what’s next there, and enough downtime between stops to just look out the window.

Each of the three wineries has its own feel. Some are small and unpolished in the best way — a working barn, a view straight down the rows. Others lean into a bigger tasting room built for groups. You won’t know exactly which combination you’ll get until your date is booked (the route rotates), but the variety across a single day is part of what makes it feel like a real wine-country trip rather than one long stop.

It’s a shared bus, which means a shared table, too — easy to strike up conversation if you want to, easy to keep to your own group if you don’t. Couples travel this way. So do longtime friends, solo travelers, and birthday groups who didn’t want the hassle of renting a private vehicle. Nobody in your group has to be the driver. Nobody has to plan the route. That’s the whole idea.

Helpful details before your tour

Thirteen practical questions, answered clearly.

The essentials are here. More detailed policies and planning information remain available in the full Vineyard Voyages FAQ.

Tickets & inclusions

What is the difference between Explorer and Connoisseur?

Explorer includes the shared Signature Scheduled Tour, round-trip transportation, three winery visits, a Certified Tourism Ambassador host, and a professional driver. Tastings, wine, lunch, and personal purchases are separate. Connoisseur includes the same tour plus one pre-selected tasting or flight at each of the three wineries.

Are tastings included?

They are included only with Connoisseur. Connoisseur includes one pre-selected tasting or flight at each winery. Explorer guests purchase any tastings they want directly from the wineries.

Is lunch included?

No. Lunch is not included with either ticket. Food is available to purchase at the second winery during the longest stop of the day.

Pickup & timing

Where does the tour pick up?

Choose either the West Falls Church Metro Kiss & Ride at 7040 Haycock Road, Falls Church, VA 22043, or Market Station at 110 South Street SE, Leesburg, VA 20175. Scheduled tours do not include individual hotel, home, or Airbnb pickup. Open the Metro pickup in Google Maps or open the Leesburg pickup in Google Maps.

What are the departure and return times?

West Falls Church departs at 10:00 a.m. and typically returns around 6:00 p.m. Market Station departs at 11:15 a.m. and generally returns by 5:15 p.m. Return times can shift with traffic and venue operations.

How long is the full experience?

Plan on approximately eight hours when joining at West Falls Church or about six hours when joining at Market Station in Leesburg.

Booking & policies

Can I book as a solo guest or as a couple?

Yes. The scheduled tour is designed for solo travelers, couples, friends, and smaller groups who want to join a shared wine-country experience.

How old do guests need to be?

All guests on Signature Scheduled Tours must be 21 or older.

What happens if fewer than six guests are booked?

Signature Scheduled Tours generally require at least six guests to operate. If the minimum is not reached, affected guests may choose another available date or apply their ticket value toward a private tour for an additional fee.

What is the cancellation and Trip Protection policy?

Ticket sales are final. Optional Trip Protection may be added during checkout for $15 per person. Its coverage and claim terms are presented during checkout.

During the tour

Does the tour operate when it rains?

Yes. Tours operate rain or shine, and winery stops include tasting rooms and indoor spaces for less favorable weather.

Is the executive bus wheelchair accessible?

No. The 27-passenger executive bus is not wheelchair accessible. Guests with mobility needs should contact Vineyard Voyages before booking to discuss boarding requirements and available options.

Will I know which wineries I’m visiting, and can the route change?

Your booking date determines which of the four rotating routes runs, and the booking calendar shows the wineries planned for that route. Because each date is a shared departure, winery order and individual stops may change when operationally necessary, and individual substitution requests can’t be accommodated.
